Welcome to GoGreenNV!

Welcome to GoGreenNV.org, where we champion the adoption of solar energy in Nevada. Our mission is to highlight how solar energy can lead us towards energy independence, economic growth, and environmental stewardship.

Nevada's Solar Strength

Nevada is taking full advantage of its abundant sunshine. As of the end of 2022, Nevada ranked 6th nationally in solar installations, with a total installed solar capacity of 5,366 MW. This capacity is enough to power 910,572 homes (SEIA, 2022). Solar energy contributes to 23.32% of Nevada's electricity, positioning us at the forefront of renewable energy adoption (SEIA, 2022).

A Sound Investment: Solar Energy in Nevada

We believe in making financially sound investments. In the past ten years, solar prices have fallen by 53%, leading to a total solar investment in our state of $9.6 billion (SEIA, 2022). Looking to the future, we anticipate an addition of 5,813 MW over the next five years, which places us 8th in the nation for growth projections (SEIA, 2022).

Private Sector Leadership: Solar Innovations

Nevada's solar revolution is being led by the private sector. Notable solar installations have been developed by companies such as Apple and Switch, which goes to show that market-driven solutions are leading the way to a sustainable future (SEIA, 2022).

Solar Energy: A Practical Choice for Homeowners

Solar energy is good for both the planet and your wallet. Homeowners in Nevada can expect to save an average of $18,319 over the lifetime of their solar system (EcoWatch, 2023)2. With the cost of solar equipment in Nevada averaging around $2.52 per watt, solar is more affordable here than in most states (EcoWatch, 2023)2. The average cost of a 10-kilowatt system, typically needed by most homes, is approximately $17,640 after applying the 30% federal tax credit (EcoWatch, 2023).

Towards Energy Independence: Is Solar Right for You?

We believe in the power of individual action. If your home uses at least 500 kilowatt-hours per month, you could benefit from solar savings. The average home in Nevada consumes 973 kWh, suggesting that solar energy is a pragmatic choice for many Nevadans (EcoWatch, 2023).

Join us in harnessing the power of the sun. With solar energy, we can stimulate economic growth, promote energy independence, and preserve the natural beauty of Nevada for generations to come. Thank you for visiting GoGreenNV.org. Let's light the way to a brighter future.
